The Bacchus collection was born from my love of  nature and good wine.

During lockdown I reestablished my relationship with nature , watching the  woodlands change on a daily basis, the luster and lushness after a fall of rain on a spring day and slow and steady changing of the seasons that we could all rely on.

I started to use more and more recycled glass as I had some empty wine bottle to hand. I stared to explore the shape, colour and form of the bottles and melting them into organic looking forms. I soon had friends willing to help me and donate their empty bottles.

In September 2022 I was part of  Glass Society of Ireland  Review exhibition in the beautiful Hunting Brooke Garden in Wicklow.

For this exhibition I installed over 75 Bacchus vessels emerging from the woodlands, like they were propagating and spreading through the wood. It was a wonderful exhibition to be part of as one of its main focuses was to leave no trace, a truly wonderful  exhibition that respected the environment.

This body of work is ongoing and available to buy of hire for events.

Medium: Glass Pate de Vere and copper wire .

A reflection on how so many of us are unaware of the process growing and producing food to feed the masses. We have come to expect our supermarkets to be Cornucopia, whilst a struggle to meet the growing demands of a growing population  in our current climate is becoming more challenging.

These Green Coral bowls are just stunning in the light.

They are inspired by my love of the sea and movement of light through glass.

I carefully select my colours , cut up to 50 glass strands and carefully arrange them in my kiln. the strands are all fused together at a temperature of 790 Celsius / 1454 Fahrenheit.

The piece is cooled and polished by hand and placed back in the kiln to be shaped into its own unique form.

All pieces are unique pieces of art and vary slightly in colour size and shape .

The clear glass bowl is embellished with hand painted music notes which flow around the rhythmic curves of the bowl.

The Glass used to make this piece is from 100% recycled glass (a friends old and  broken green house to be exact)

The beautiful Rainbow Glass Bowl  will brighten up any space, when light passes through this bowl the colours are truly magical.

Each Bowl is a unique piece of art,  I combine up to 40 strands of  brightly coloured glass that are  melted  together in my Kiln to create one solid piece. I sand and polish the glass and put it back in the kiln to shape the piece into its own unique form.

They are made from hundreds of pieces of coloured glass fused together in my Kiln where they becomes one singe form. The piece is them polished and refired in my Kiln where it takes on its own unique shape.

Splash:Stunning Glass Sculpture .

This sculpture captures a moment in time.

It is created from recycled  glass and reclaimed copper wire.

The copper wire is fused into the glass  to create natural green copper tones and add to the movement of the piece.
